Intern Follow-up: Aiden’s Experience

It’s time to catch up with Aiden, one of our summer interns!

A recent graduate of Cape Cod Tech’s marine shop, Aiden shared his thoughts on his summer experience working at BRM as he pursues his career of marine engineering.

What did you like best about your internship?

I liked learning so much about the marine industry and Bass River Marina itself.

What was the most surprising thing you learned this summer? And what was the most challenging part about your internship?

I was surprised to learn more about inboard engines here, and how different that work was from what I learned in school. The most challenging part about the job was remembering everything I was learning!

What was a typical day like this summer?

Every day at the Marina was different. On a summer day, I would wash boats, do electrical work, spend time working on engines, and help my co-workers out with tasks.

What is one tip you learned this summer you will use when you’re out boating?

When I go out boating personally, I will be prepared and look over everything before leaving and be prepared while on the water. I saw lots of boats get beached on the shallow spots right in front of the Marina!

Thanks to Aiden for his hard work this summer and sharing his experience!

Congrats to him on being hired full time at BRM this fall!

Be sure to say hello if you see him.
